Who are we?

This is the blog for the Krynoid PodCast, a Doctor Who podcast which has been running since October 2009.kp logo full size square jpeg

Jim and Martin are your hosts – two ancient old Doctor Who fans who love the show to bits (but do take the mick a wee bit).

We mainly use the blog to publish our podcast episodes but we occasionally muster the energy to write an article. Just don’t hold your breath.

Anywho, welcome…

It’s great to be reminded of how different classic Who is to the modern day show, both in budget and pace. I love hearing Jim and Martin’s irreverent views about the episodes I remember well and it’s also nice to find out about the stories I haven’t seen before.
Keep up the good work Jim and Martin.

I like your podcasts too. I can vaguely remember watching an episode of what I later identified as the Evil of the Daleks at about age 3. And then, something like 6 to 12 months later there came…Tomb of the Cybermen! – I remember I couldn’t sleep and was seeing the cybermen around every corner (including under my bed). I was counting down each minute of every day and night waiting for next week’s episode. Those were the days. I have found in life that Doctor Who provides important learnings. The one that I carry with me the most stems from the end of the Tomb of the Cybermen when they go back into the Tardis and the Doctor looks briefly at the bas reliefs of the horrific cybermen. There is a grimness in his expression that says it all about everything.

I would like to particularly commend you for the pacing and the tenor of your podcast – many of the other Who podcasters are too raucous – I find I can’t sit back and relax and listen to them but maybe it is because of my age.

I also appreciate your trenchant criticism of certain aspects of nu-Who.

In Krynoid’s Tomb of the Cybermen podcast, your the Doctor lays a cable (well he must have been very scared) joke is my favourite bit of your humour. I hope you keep laying those cables for many podcasts to come.

      Hi Freddie,

Great days indeed. I wonder if today’s kids are creeping past statues, hoping they don’t come to life. I hope so 🙂

Thanks for your kind comments about the podcast. Quiet, considered, juvenile and scatological humour is what we aim for 😉 Rest assured, we shall keep laying cable until someone stops us or the police move us on.
