CapaldiCast 1.3: Robot of Sherwood

“No damsels in distress. No pretty castles. No such thing as Robin Hood.”

Well it just goes to show that even curmudgeonly old Time Lords can get things wrong occasionally, although the TARDIS team do also manage to encounter a Robot of Sherwood or several during their sojourn in Merrie England.KP CC 1_3 artwork

Hair is plucked, sandals are sniffed, targets are incinerated and a baddie is cast into a vat of boiling gold.

All in a day’s work for Spoonman and Clara.

But does the episode hit the target or plummet into the moat of obscurity and derision?

Listen in and find out…

As someone who absolutely despises the ridiculous overuse of the Sonic Screwdriver and screams internally every time it’s used like a magic wand,I never miss an opportunity to have a little whine when it happens.

However I think you are wrong in this instance criticizing the Doctor using the sonic to blow up the target.
He didn’t blow up a straw target, he blew up the electronic homing devices he attached to the arrow heads. It may be a weak explanation but it’s feasible and not as far fetched as the sonic repairing barbed wire out of thin air or shooting guns out of Silurian’s hands…

      Hi Bob,

Yes, that’s definitely a feasible explanation for the targets blowing up.

And, yes, a far better use than the two others you mention 🙂
